MARDIN - As a result of detonating a remote control bomb placed on the highway targeting a civilian-plated minibus which was carrying soldiers, 4 soldiers killed and 2 of them village guards 6 others were wounded in the Derik district of southeastern province of Mardin.

According to the initial reports, the bomb which was planted on the motorway thereabouts Tepebağ village of Derik, was detonated remotely while a minibus carrying soldiers was passing at around 8.20 this morning. 

After the incident, a lot of ambulances were transferred to the scene. After the first medical intervention the wounded were transported to the hospitals nearby. Three out of ten wounded soldiers lost their lives due to all medical attention.  3 heavily wounded soldiers were transferred to Diyarbakır via helicopter.

A military operation was launched in the region against perpetrators of the attack.
