Challenges of nomadic people with snow
BINGOL - Nomadics people who take their sheep and goat to warmer regions are caught by heavy snowfall in Bingöl.
Snowfall which started heavily last night in Bingöl Karlıova has negatively affected ranches.
Nomadics people which they herding their sheep and goats in tablelands, they are departing towards Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa due to winter. Nomadic people got on the way a few days ago to not being caught by snowfall, they have caught snowfall in Azizan village.
Says they have difficult conditions due to snowfall, nomadic people uttered that some of their sheep are wasted.
Sadullah Göngür, said that they are on the ways for 2 days from Erzurum to reach Diyarbakır and added, “We suffered a lot due to snowfall. We challenged not to be caught by snowfall but we failed. Snowfall has caught us on the way. Allah willing we will reach to Şanlıurfa with a less damage.”
Ömer Gök, another nomadic, said that their job became harder because of snowfall and added, “When the air temperature fall under zero then it became a serious issue for us and it gives damage to our animals. That’s why we have to travel to warmer regions.”
Another nomadic Serhat Dal also said his sheep affected from snowfall and added, “White color sheep are more durable than brownish sheep. They immediately being affected. We have to travel to Diyarbakir, Şanlıurfa and Mardin to get efficiency from animals. There are warmer regions. Sheep are herding in pasture areas in there but in here there is nothing like that.” (ILKHA)
