Tents of Syrian refugees were flooded
ADANA - Because of the rain that was effective in Adana, hundreds of Syrian families’ tents were flooded.
The tents where Syrian families were sheltering who fled from the civil war in their country and came to Adana, flooded because of the rain.
The rain that was effective in the city for two days affected negatively the Syrian families living in the tents in Yüreğir district Yamaçlı Neighborhood which they have established with their own means on vacant lands and fields.
Because of the rain, hundreds of Syrian families’s tents were found to be in the water.
While it was learned that the most children, women and the elderly were affected from the situation, it was observed that many of possessions were not usable.
The families who were in difficult conditions because of the cold in the city said they were waiting helplessly and asked the authorities to help them.
In the amateur scenes taken at the house of a family of water-damaged tents, a citizen who lives in the same region said, "Those families do not have anybody, they do not work. The mother is a gardening worker if there is a work. She is hungry when there is no job. There is no job for 10 days for the family. If anybody wants to help the families monthly, they can contact us." (ILKHA)
