PKK stopped and set vehicles on fire
AGRI - PKK stopped 3 Lorries and set them on fire in Dogubayazit, a town in Agri.
Last night at 9:30pm PKK gathered people from 5 different villages and made them protest in the town centre of Dogubayazit.
It has been reported that people were forced to protest as the PKK members threatened them.
The province governor of Agri made a written statement regarding the situation. In the statement it was stated that PKK aimed to use the villagers as a shield in case of any attacks after the protest.
Province governor stated that on 10 July at around 9pm PKK members picked up the villagers from Ciftlik, Turkmen, Cebelikumbeti, Demirkapi and Demirtepe villages to force them to protest. The villagers were told that the solution process has now ended and that there would now be a war so they need protest against this in Dogubayazit. Villagers were threatened to protest and failure to do so would be punished.
The province governor also remarked that PKK members oppressed the villagers and took them to Dogubayazit all in a minibus. In case of an attack they would have been forced to use guns and PKK also aimed to be use them as a shield.
After the protest there was an attack stated by the governor “For this reason the PKK members used the villagers to block Dogubayazit Igdir highway and Dogubayazit Gulbulak highway. They burnt down 3 loaded lorries. Terrorists used the people as a shield when the security forces attempted to intervene during the incidents that resulted in them firing shotguns to four different points. With the intervention of the security forces terrorists run away.
It was also stated that in Diyadin a group of 25-30 people threw fireworks and shouted slogans. A bag of 15 coke bottles with explosive substances were also found and disposed. (ILKHA)
