MARDIN - Citizens who have seen all parts of a car were stolen in their neighborhoods in Mardin couldn’t believe their eyes.

A car found with all its part stolen by thieves in Kızıltepe, district of Mardin.

The event took place at 557th Street in Dunaysır Neighborhood. According to information, residents of the neighborhood during the morning hours saw that the door, luggage, hood and seats of a car were dismantled by an unidentified person or persons. Residents of neighborhood could not believe their eyes that they encountered a car with only its body shell left behind.

When the news was given, the police, who came to the scene, did fingerprinting work. The vehicle was removed from the scene with a tow truck.

The residents of the neighborhood, who stated that such events are increasing day by day because there is no dissuasive punishment for thieves, claimed that thieves are being arrested and released immediately.

Residents who reacted to the event, said, "When we got up in the morning, we found a car that its doors, seats, luggage compartment doors and bonnet removed, just a skeleton car was left. We were shocked because it’s the first time we have seen something like that. We realized later that all parts were dismantled by thieves. Immediately we call the police. Theft events has begun to increase in the last few months. They started to steal whatever they get. There is no a deterrent penalty to block them. The police caught and take them to the court. Then they are given a supervised release or after staying in jail for a few months, they release. If deterrent, severe punishment are given, there will be no such thing as theft.” (ILKHA)
