NEWS CENTER - Parliamentary question has issued on the death of an elderly woman named Pakize Hazar in an accident hit by armored military vehicle in Diyarbakır’s Lice.

An armored vehicle hit an old woman named Pakize Hazar on Wednesday, reported that the woman lost her life in the accident. After this last event, HDP Diyarbakır MP Sibel Yiğitalp gave a question proposal to the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye regarding the increase in the incidents that caused the deaths of police and military armored vehicles.

Yiğitalp stated on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, that a woman was killed by an armored vehicle named Pakize Hazar in the town center of Lice district of Diyarbakır. The woman lost her life at the scene and that the funeral was taken by Halis Toprak Foundation State Hospital for autopsy procedures. Yiğitalp then asked questions to the Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım to be written answered.

“Armored vehicles belonging to the police and soldiers have frequently been exposed to civilian deaths in the provinces and at least 15 injuries and deaths have occurred in the last year due to armored vehicle crashes and accidents,” reminded Yiğitalp and ask the following questions in this context:

- Has an investigation started on the case that caused to the death of Pakize Hazar, aged 70? If so, who is it?

- Is the identification of the armored vehicle driver that caused the death of Hazar? Is there any evidence or document that the police who used armored vehicles has been trained to use armored vehicles?

- Are there records from city surveillance cameras, from security cameras, and cameras those are in the armored vehicle? If so, do you think that you will share these records with the public?

- Since 2000, what is the number of deaths and injuries caused by armored vehicles in that neighborhood? How many of these are children?

-What is the number of investigations launched about law enforcement agencies that cause these incidents resulting in death or injury? What happened to the results?

As it can be remembered, recently, on May 4, the police armored vehicle entered a house belonging to Mesut Yıldırım in the town of Silopi, Şırnak, causing 2 children to be killed and a police officer was arrested. (ILKHA)
