ISTANBUL - An inspector was charged and an investigations were started by the Ministry of Interior regarding the police violence and torture in the past days in Istanbul.

An inspector was charged by Ministry of Interior to investigate allegations of violence and torture applied on Efrahim Yakar, who was beaten after being stopped by the police in “fast-breaking time” in Istanbul, and violence to his mother and other family members.

HUDA PAR Istanbul Provincial President Erdal Elibüyük, who is the follower of the incident and who gave information about the latest developments, said, “We are continuing our search on torture and practice of the Motorize Yunus teams in İstanbul Bağcılar that they have done two days ago. And we have been successful in our initiatives and have been informed by the authorities that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has appointed an inspector to investigate the incident.”

Emphasizing that these and similar incidents have harmed social peace, Elibuyuk stated that everyone should be very careful and should not remain silent against such events:

“It is necessary to absolutely remove the rotten apples in police department that abuse their duty in safety, do not obey the right of the citizen, and give inhumane grievances to the people. Our aim is to form a social sensitivity for those kind of events not to living anymore. Thanks to Allah, it has been pleased to see that there is a social sensitivity in a wide range of people from many different parts of the society in relation to this recent event, which we hope will not happen again.” (ILKHA)
