Flood on Hakkari-Van border

Around 100 bovines wasted in the flood due to heavy rain took place at noon in Ilıcak [Hozi] village on Hakkari-Van border. It was reported that some houses have become unusable in the village.
While a large number of vehicles were stuck due to the floods that followed the sudden suppression of rainfall on Hakkari-Van highway in different points, flood disaster caused a major property damage in many places.
In the flood disaster that took place in the Ilıcak, Çaldıran and Esenyamaç Neighborhoods in Başkale district, it was stated that close to 100 bovines and small cattle were floated while 2 thousand acres of land remained under the flood.
Roads in some neighborhoods and the gardens of the houses were filled with clumps of mud in some areas after the rain, which damaged the agricultural land.
Mesut Ayhan, one of the village residents who spoke after the flood disaster, said, “The flood took place suddenly at noon. We have close to 100 cattle wasted. We only could save our lives.” (Mehmet Özkan - ILKHA)
