IZMIR - 4 children, totally 6 people lost their lives after a boat carrying immigrant sank off Izmir-Çeşme, in Turkiye.

It is stated that the result of the sinking of a boat carrying immigrants while trying to cross to the Greek islands on Izmir off, 6 people lost their lives which 4 of them are children.

According to the information, a Coast Guard helicopter was sent to the region with 3 Coast Guard boats on the notice of the sinking of an immigrant boat to the north of Karaada. In the search and rescue work carried out, 9 Iraqi people, 3 Somalian and 2 Syrian nationalities were rescued. Rescued immigrants were taken to Çeşme State Hospital for treatment. Bodies of 4 children and 2 women were found.

As the search and rescue efforts for the find of the two missing persons continued, it was reported that a Turkish citizen, who is considered to be an organizer, is escaped from the region. (ILKHA)
