BATMAN - Saying that the last incidents in the country have made the entrepreneurs feel insecure to make investments in the region, chambers of commerce and businessmen noted that, the last developments are destabilizing the economy.

Entrepreneurs feel insecure to invest in the region

Speaking to Ilke News Agency about the damages over economy after bombing attack in Suruc and killing of two policemen in Ceylanpınar, the businessmen and chairmen of chambers of commerce said that,” outbreak of the violence in the region has made entrepreneurs review their new investments in the region.”

Chairman of Batman Chamber of commerce (BATSO) Abdulkadir Demir said that,” During Reconciliation Process that lasted for 3 years the region received vast amount of investment. Before the reconciliation Process in 1990s there was only one industrial park in our city and before this there had been a flour factory in the city. After 90s 50 entrepreneurs have made investments in industrial park. After the Reconciliation process all parcels in the park were purchased. All of the 4 stages filled up and 160 entrepreneurs are waiting for new stages for their investments. Of course these developments all happened owing to reconciliation process.”

“Entrepreneurs are indecisive whether to make investment”

Indicating that the latest developments affected adversely, Demir expressed his concerns that,” Recently, we have seen some politicians uttering that politic solution has ended. This affects both the markets and the economy. Particularly the entrepreneurs think twice whether to make investment in our region or not. They are all indecisive about making new investments. If we don’t attract investments, then the matter of unemployment will be worse.”

“Economy blooms where it finds peace”

Emphasizing that the reconciliation process mustn’t be ended, Demir said that, “We do not want to see the end of Reconciliation Process. The process vitally must resume on. I believe the politicians must use a tongue of peace. They must weigh their words, because their words affect people and economy. Today, we can see how influential their words in the increase of Dollar and Euro.”

Stating that the latest events have occurred in the country are very saddening, Demir said that,” None of us supports these events. People are very worried about the latest events. I think the entrepreneurs revise their investments. Economy blooms where it finds peace. As we see investors are worried about the latest developments. Reconciliation process must resume on. This is a must for the country.

“Violence outbreak has ruined the welfare level in our region”

“We cannot approve the latest events” said Suat Ozdemir, chairman of Batman branch of Independent industrials and Businessmen Association, added that,” We don’t want to view the latest events as a mark back to 90s. We see no any gain in these events to our country, state, our region and our people. I make nothing of these incidents. The human life mustn’t be so cheap. We mustn’t consent to any kind of policy or trade intriguing on human blood. The latest events occurred in the region have ruined the level of welfare gained in the last three years, in a short time. These incidents must end in a kind of way. We condemn those who are responsible for these saddening events both in the presence of Allah and in our conscience.”

“Entrepreneurs seek peace and stability where they make investment”

Noting that, entrepreneurs wouldn’t realize an investment where there isn’t peace in, Ozdemir said that,” Capital is fearful. When a person wants to make an investment somewhere, he seeks peace and stability there. Why does a person feel to invest somewhere unrest occurs? Or how can an investor enlarge his invests in such a place? This is dreaminess. If these incidents spread over the country and keeps go on fiercely then no one will find peace in anywhere or have any desire to do business. Human life is more important than everything but unfortunately at this moment we see human life isn’t as valuable as a matchstick. We just want these incidents end in the country without delay.
