NEWS CENTER - President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the signing of Russia's S-400 missile systems.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his statement to reporters from the return visit to Kazakhstan, “Signed for the S-400 missiles from Russia were discarded. As far as I know, the deposit also was given.”

Russia also made a statement about the issue. Russian Military Technical Advisor to the President of the Russian State responsible for Cooperation Vladimir Kojin stated that sign a contract for the delivery of S-400 missile system with Russia and Turkiye has been made and the contract will start to be implemented, he said.

Kojin said, “The contract has been signed, it is preparing to put into practice. You know that S-400 is one of the most difficult systems. So, here are several important points. For this reason, we understand the reactions of some western countries trying to pressure Turkiye.”

The United States has criticized Turkiye's adoption of the S-400 missile defense system and stated that the system may be incompatible with other equipment used by NATO.   (ILKHA)
