ANKARA - Speaking at a meeting of mayors in Ankara, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pointed to NATO member countries, especially the USA and said, “They went crazy” related to the S-400 with Russia.

Speaking about the issue, while the echoes of the S-400 agreement between Turkiye and Russia continued throughout Europe, President Erdoğan said, “They went crazy because we made S-400 agreement.”

“They went crazy just because we made the S-400 deal. What were we supposed to do? Wait for you? We are taking care of ourselves. We are taking security measures and will continue to do so,” said Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his speech at the AK Party’s Mayoral Consultation and Assessment Meeting in Ankara.

“The United States, Israel made us hairsplitting to not give UAVs”

“The United State and Israel made us hair-splitting for years to not sell UAVs,” for years. Recalling how difficult it was to procure UAVs from the US and Israel and then to repair and service them, President Erdoğan said: “Now, Turkiye can produce its own UAVs, even armed ones. And they are disturbed by that fact. We will do better things. We are taking important steps. They went crazy just because we made the S-400 deal. What were we supposed to do? Wait for you? We are taking care of ourselves. We are taking security measures and will continue to do so.”
