Iran will get the S-300’s from Russia
MOSKOW - It was reported that new agreement made on the transfer of S-300 air defense system between Russia and Iran.
Russian Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, stated that Moscow and Tehran agreed about the delivery of S-300 air defense system.
Bogdanov, indicated that the problems about the shipment of S-300 air defense systems were solved but just some technical details remain.
In 2007 Russia and Iran had signed an agreement worth $ 800 million on S-300 missile defense systems. However, due to embargo started over Iran by UN in 2010, the agreement was suspended because of international sanctions imposed because of Iran's nuclear program.
Due to the agreement signed with 5 + 1 countries on April 2 in the city of Lausanne, Switzerland, with the easing of Iran sanctions over its nuclear program, Russia was able to open the way for the re-shipment of weapons to Iran.
The explanation on delivery of S-300 air defense systems was not disclosed. (ILKHA)
