DIYARBAKIR - Yetim Der Association helped young couples that were unable to get married due to financial hardships with various things under the scope of ‘Step to Peace’ project.
Asistance and Solidarity Association for Victims and Orphans (Yetim Der) started this ‘Step to Peace’ campaign in 2011 in Diyarbakir for the orphans and victims.
Yetim Der Association had 20 couples married when they first started the ‘Step to Peace’ campaign in 2011, later had 24 and lastly had 21 couples married. This year 4 more couples have appealed for help in getting married.
Yetim Der Association officer Abdulkadir Kinay reports that everything donated to the ‘Step to Peace’ campaign is given to the youngsters who are in need.
“Muslim is he who does not leave his brother in hardship”
Kinay, “We carry out these facilities by taking these hadiths into consideration: ‘Muslims are brothers and sisters, they do not oppress them, they do not leave them in hardship. Allah will help those who help their brothers and sisters. Who ever relieves their brothers from hardship, Allah will relieve them from hardship on the day of Qiyamah. Allah will make happy those who have made their brothers happy.”
Kinay claims that the youngsters should be given a helping hand and adds, “We suggest those who are financially well off to help the youngsters who want to get married in the light of these hadiths. As Yetim Der, Kinay provides couples with 2 rugs, 1 oven, 1 washing machine, 1 fridge, 2 blankets, 1 tea pot, 1 kettle, 1 hair dryer, 1 iron, 1 ironing table, 1 clothes hanger and a pot set. (ILKHA)
