ADANA - Vasfi Tekin, Adana’s debonair inviter of 90s that win over his environment, was killed in armed attack treacherously in his book store on 2 September 1994.

As it is expressed as hundreds of religious Kurdish people were slain by PKK, Vasfi Tekin with his Islamic personality also was targeted of treacherous bullets. Tekin who was beloved and respected by everyone who knew him was killed in an armed attack treacherously after Friday prayer in his bookstore on 2 September 1994.

Originally he was from the southeastern town of Gercus’ Gokcepinar village in Batman province said Vasfi Tekin’s son Hakan Tekin, added that his father was a young man at his 35 years old when he was killed.

 “He was eager to tell young Islam”

Expressing that his father had owned a bookstore in Yuregir and taught young people Quran and Islamic information, Tekin said that, “Everyone knew my father said that he was a gentle, debonair, loved his relatives, cared children and eager to tell Islam.”

“This life is worth to sacrifice for my Lord”

Saying that his father was threatened constantly, Tekin said that, “As my mother told me, we received two threatening letters. But my father was debonair as well a brave man. But he didn’t yield this threat. Always he said ‘Life belongs to Allah; He can only take it back. My life is worth to sacrifice for my Lord.’”

He was slain on Friday treacherously

Telling the details of the murder of his father, Tekin said that, “My father was slain 2 September 1994 on Friday. 2 masked man opened fire with long barrel weapons to my father’s bookstore. According to forensic medicine report, my father was killed with four bullets and submitted his soul to Allah.”

“He was martyred that we couldn’t have his love”

Indicating that when my father was kılled he had one of them was in my mother’s womb 5 children in total, Tekin said that, “We were very small at those times and my father was a young man. We couldn’t have his love when he was martyred. But we cannot thank Allah enough that He granted my father the martyrdom. To give one’s life to Allah is a great honor and happiness. To give your life in cause of Allah is not a loss but a priceless gain. May Allah give us-his family- strength to follow his way. As our prophet remarked martyrs can bless their families, with the will of God he blesses us.” (ILKHA)
