Emphasising that the martyrdom is the highest rank after prophethood, Tanrıverdi said that, “In fact martyrdom begins with the word of Tawhid. Everyone who chants Tawhid attests to the rightness of this cause with all his body and soul. ‘Allah offers to purchase your provisions and your lives in return of heavens’. Who wants paradise and beyond that who wants to gain blessing of Allah, he or she must hold fast the cause of Allah to reach the rank of martyrdom. However to get such a high rank cannot be gained by sitting. Absolutely the price of big gains needs big compensations. Hats why martyrdom asks faith, heart, courage, deeds, sincerity and a sacrifice for all you have.”
Remarking that martyrs are not losses for village and their families but a great acquisition, Tanriverdi said that,” These lives we have sacrificed for this great cause are both for you and for us is a great blessing from Allah. A martyr is like a candle while illuminating the around consumes himself. These precious martyrs illuminated our way as they sacrificed their lives. They guided us while illuminating our way, they became examples of how a martyr lives and what we must consider when we talk about martyrdom. Well, this is the real altruism that they sacrificed their lives for our tomorrows.”
Ending his speech with a verse, Tanriverdi said as his last words that, “‘among the believers are men true to what they promised. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow, and is he who awaits. (Ahzab 23) Our precious martyrs! Your way is our way. The flag that you entrusted us hasn’t fallen and will never fall. You fulfilled your vows to Allah and we are awaiting our chances. May God bless your souls.” (ILKHA)
