15 scholars received their diploma with a ceremony held in Bitlis
BITLIS - In the ceremony held at Bitlis Geylani Madrasah, 15 scholars who completed their Islamic studies received their diploma.
The ceremony took place in Yolyazi (Yam). Bitlis Eren University Islamic Studies Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Isa Yuceer, Bitlis Mufti Abdulkerim Akbaba, well-known sheiks and scholars of the area and the public attended the ceremony, which was held in the astro pitch of the madrasah.
Bitlis Eren University Islamic Studies Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Isa Yuceer makes a brief description of the diploma ceremony, emphasising the importance of the madrasah and how Islamic studies should be further strengthened with theological knowledge.
Province Mufti Abdulkerim Akbaba spoke by virtue of the meaning and importance of the day and pointed out the importance of the madrasah’s in the region. Akbaba, “Madrasahs are places which Islamic studies and scientific knowledge are learned. Today there is great importance of madrasah’s as it was in the past. We must give more value to our madrasah’s. We must make more effort for the development of our madrasahs. Because madrasahs have done their duty in the position of the main potion of yeast spirituality of this area and they continue to do.”
Geylani madrasa teacher Nesrullah Geylani thanked the guests and stated they were happy to have given the diplomas and added that they are continuing to give education in the madrasah, which his grandfather Sheikh Muhammed-i Arbo-I had started. Geylani states that they will continue this sacred heritage, which was left from their grandfather and says, "Giving diplomas to the scholars who have completed their education makes us happy. A teacher’s biggest dream is to give diplomas to its students. Praise to the Lord who granted us and brought us to this day. We know the importance of madrasahs. We will continue this legacy we have received from our ancestors, God willing. I thank all who participated in the diploma ceremony.”
After the speeches were made the diplomas were given to the scholars who had completed their education. Emotional moments were experienced when students came to the ceremony area for their diplomas accompanied by ritual prayers. Food was served to the guests after the diploma ceremony. (ILKHA)
