28th February (nonofficial coup) of Islamic NGOs continues in Adana

Adana Umut Der Food Bank chairman Abidin Serin indicated that the 115 years of imprisonment decision that given for 24 NGO workers employees him is at the stage of Supreme Court and that their victimization wasn’t sorted out.

"It is very strange the Elazig IHYA-DER and Adana NGO files are not spoken about while Conspiracies occur one by one"

Stating the victimization of NGO managers and members to Ilke News Agency (ILKHA), Serin said; "I am one of the 30 people that were taken under investigation, that were arrested on the raids against NGOs in Adana in 2011. In the court process that taken years in Adana 5th heavy crime court 24 people were sentenced for 115 years of jail. The decision that given in April 2015 is at the supreme court stage now. In the court it is clear that we are blamed with arranging Islamic activities and arranging activity on birthday of Prophet Mouhammad (PBUH). Also we were blamed according to silly evidences that were found in computer of a person who has schizophrenia problem and is informant of JITEM and Police department. Now while all the traps of the parallel organization that were arranged against the Islamic NGOs is clear and are been spoken about, it is very strange that Elazig IHYA-DER and Islamic NGO files are not spoken about."

"We were punished while we were expecting to be awarded"

Indicating that he is chairman of UMUT-DER that addresses aid for hundreds of people in need, Serin said; "UMUT-DER have been addressing aid to thousands of people primarily food. But unfortunately while we expected to be congratulated an association we were punished. 2 of my friends who were UMUT-DER association’s former presidents were prison sentenced as well. It is hard to understand this. I am 3rd president of the NGO that helps people, arranges Islamic – Social – cultural activities, delivers food to poor people and shows happiness to orphans. Besides me some of our friends who are in the administration of association were punished as well. 28th February process for NGOs still continues in Adana."

"Our arrestment and judgement is result of trap"

Also giving information about judgement process, Serin said, "While the prosecutor asked for me to be released, the court sentenced me with prison. We were arrested and judged as a result of a trap. Plus there was not any crime for anyone to be judged for. We are being tried to be punished for the legal activities that we have arranged, it is not possible to understand the purpose. Do some ask us to leave our religion? If so we are sorry but we are ready to pay for all of costs for our belief."

Indicating that they were punished due to traps arranged and that their court is at supreme court stage, Serin said; "We have not committed any crime, the penalties we were sentenced with are at the supreme court now. If the Supreme Court approves the penalties, then we will be sent to prison. " Indicating that even those who have arranged coup against that government were released, but Islamic personalities are wanted to be put into prison, Serin said this was unfair and double standards.

Stating that also In the 2000s, hundreds of people were tormented while were under investigation and were prisoned and still hundreds of people are in prison unfairly prisoned due to some traps, Serin said, "In the past there were traps set for this community.  People were tormented for dozens of days and were prisoned for life time due to fake statements that they were forced to sign. Still there are people in prison since 15-20-25 years. They should be realized by the state as well, they also have families. Enough is enough 28th February process should be ended for religious people."

"We will never forgive those who persecuted us"

Expressing that they refer those who have persecuted them to Allah, Serin said, "If our sentence was approved and we were sent to prison, our heads will be straight and we won’t be there with shame. Within the permit of Allah one day we will be out of the prison dead or alive. But we will complaining in the day of Akhira about those who have arranged these traps to us and persecuted us. We will never forgive our rights to them. We will complain of them in the next life.” (ILKHA)
