Women in Adana protests saying “Aylan’s shouldn’t die!”

Adana Rainbow Education and Solidarity Association held a press release to attract attention to the tragedy of Syrians who have drowned while trying to emigrate to Europe. Approximately a hundred women and their children attended the press release meeting saying “Aylan’s shouldn’t die!”

Photographs of Aylan baby whose body was washed up on the beach were carried by the demonstrators as well as other refugees who were drowned in the sea. “Russia USA get out of Syria and Humanity has hit the shore” notes were carried by the women in a currency note format.

After the recitation of the Quran Seymanur Yildizhan read out the statement on behalf of the crowd remarking that they are on the streets to attract attention to the tragedy of the refugees who have died in the sea.

“The Syrians who have died is not just a number, it is a life!”

Yildizhan underlined that the civil war in Syrian that has been ongoing for many years has directly affected millions of people’s lives, “Unfortunately, the people who lost their lives in Syria have just remained as a number and statistical information. The fact that these people are honourable creatures created by Allah is completely ignored.” She added that the death of people has become a normal thing.

Yildizhan noted that US, Russia and Israel along with other global evil states have collaborated and made Syria an uninhabitable place. Adding that, women and children fled their countries due to the war that are now in a refugee status which is very upsetting.

“Syrian children drowning in a sea has become the usual”

Syrians who have chosen the sea path to immigrate to Europe and have died is now being reflected as the usual on the media, which is a disgrace for mankind said Yildizhan, “The dead bodies of small children being washed up on the beach and hearing the cried of people falling of the boat is heart-breaking. The photos of Aylan Kurdi’s body washing up on the beach was in the world’s media causing sensitivity in public opinion but despite this it has not prevented similar tragedies. Unfortunately, several of other people have drowned in the same way.”

Yildizhan stated that permanent remedies and solutions are need for the Syrian refugees and migrating with the sea path should be prevented. She added that, expecting an act from Europe is pointless as they do things on their own best interest.

Yildizhan states that the Syria talks in Geneva would not lead to anything and by activating additional measures against the influx of refugees in the territories, the Europe plans to send the refugees back to Turkey. Yildizhan underlined that the Western world is responsible for the civil war in Syria and refugee tragedy, for this reason it would be more accurate to resolve this problem within the Islamic nations.

The women demonstrators walked from Cakmak Street to the Central Post Office after the press meeting, remarking that a permanent solution needs to be found for the Syrian refugees. They also underlined that they have faxed a statement to the Government to prevent more people drowning like Aylan baby. (ILKHA)
