NEWS CENTER - Director of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez invited religious workers to do self-criticism by saying: “If we have done our duties properly as 100 thousand religious workers, we could construct the brother ship order of Allah properly, would our citizens experience these difficulties and these pains?”

Director of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Mehmet Görmez, hold a meeting with religious affairs workers that working in Southeastern Turkey in Mardin. Speaking in the ‘Religious workers consultation meeting’ was hold in a private hotel Director of religious affairs of Turkey Mehmet Görmez said: “Rather than a consultation meeting, this meeting is a meeting to listen to problems of religious affairs workers and motivation meeting.”

Going to Mardin with a delegation of senior executives of religious affairs presidency, Mehmet Görmez passing his ‘Get well soon’ wishes to religious affairs workers due to the difficulties they faced because of latest conflicts, Görmez said: “The main goal of this meeting is to listen to your problems, share feelings and share your difficulties. You have experienced many days with difficulties. Your children and families experienced same difficulties. That is why I would like to pass my ‘Get well soon’ wishes personally and on behalf of my colleagues working for Directorate of religious affairs.”

Indicating despite  terror in South east is targeting mosques, none of religious affairs workers doesn’t leave their duty president Görmez, appreciating all kind of efforts and sacrifices, said:

"Allah's houses (mosques) were targeted"

Görmez said: “While the provinces were destroyed you also have experienced big harms. Your wives, children and rest of the family experienced harms. Some of you lost their relatives, Allah mercy them, some of yours house were devastated and destroyed. I know these. Mosques that you are leading prayers in that most of you spent efforts while they were built were destroyed and are out of service now. Houses of Allah (mosques) were targeted. Houses of Allah (mosques) were turned to headquarters for bad purposes. Many temples were destroyed, many books were burnt and historical buildings were devastated. You lost your mosques and your communities. There were times that you couldn’t do do the call of prayers. You became sad, grieve and spilled your tears to your heart. I know these, get well soon. Some of you had to close your Quran courses, and gave a break to education. Some of you had to send your students to other provinces to study Quran, you had to spread them to other courses. In order your students not to be harmed you have transferred them to other places in tears, you became sad, get well soon again.”

“It is time to treat wounds now”

Stating that they have launched a campaign as religious affairs workers, Görmez said: “The title of our campaign is ‘it is time to treat our wounds’ now we are going to act together to treat our wounds. Our aims not just material aid. Because treating wounds doesn’t just happen materially. First, we should give importance to spiritual dimension of this campaign. We should act with all religious volunteers in Turkey and heal the wounds of our citizens together. As we heal wounds of all oppressed people in the world, we also should heal wounds of our citizens that we have established the country together. To clean tears of people living anywhere in this country those we have constructed our brotherhood, should be our duty. We should make up each other’s losses. We should repair the houses of those who lost their houses. We should be house together, home to those whose house was devastated.” (ILKHA)
