‘Despite of heavy clashes, children of Cizre didn’t skip their Quran lessons’
SIRNAK - After a curfew that has been going on in Cizre 66 days now, the town went to rack and ruin however more than 20 children, residents in Nur neighborhood, haven’t skipped their Quran lessons due to heavy clashes and gunshots.
Not being able to go to a mosque due to ongoing clashes in their neighborhood, these children, boys and girls, have been continuing to take Quran lessons in the garden of a house that really amazed people in the neighborhood.
Mehmet Nurullah Gözüngü, one of the children taking Quran lessons, said: “learning Quran is one of the pillars of our religion so curfews cannot hinder us from learning Quran. So we had been taking these lessons in a mosque before the curfew but now we cannot go to the mosques and we have continued to have these lessons in the garden of our house.”
Esma Hüsna Gözüngü, one of the girls taking these lessons, said: “We had been taking these lessons in the mosque normally but we have started to have Quran lessons in the garden since the curfew was declared. The curfew hasn’t been an obstacle for us while we have been learning Quran and I hope from God that nothing can prevent us from learning Quran.”
Esma added that every Muslim must learn how to recite Quran and I advise all Muslims to learn and recite Quran. (ILKHA)
