Yapıcıoğlu evaluated the agenda
GAZIANTEP - Head of HUDA PAR Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu visited Gaziantep as part of party activities and evaluated the agenda in a press conference.
To attend some activities organized by party, head of HUDA PAR Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu held a press conference at HUDA PAR Gaziantep provincial office.
Evaluating the agenda, Yapıcıoğlu said PKK carried the conflicts into city centers deliberately but now it seems PKK gives up all its hope from this period, therefore people haven’t supported them.
“We have said since the beginning; your path is wrong”
Indicating that pursuing the clashes in the residential areas, placing bombs in the alleys harm the civilians the most, Yapıcıoğlu said : “It is possible to say the conflicts in Cizre mostly settled down. But the clashes in Sur district still continue. There still explosions rock the neighborhoods and loss of civilians getting higher. We have said since the beginning the path they follow is wrong.”
Underscoring that resorting weapons cannot be a way to seek your rights, Yapıcıoğlu said that; “We would wish that these clashes come to an end even in the rural areas and in the mountains as well. Let the problem be solved politically and peacefully but PKK maliciously tried to drag people into clashes to commence a revolt. But people haven’t promoted their intention yet.
“Syria almost devastated”
Mentioning the truce and current situation in Syria, Yapıcıoğlu said: “In five years, nearly 400 thousand people lost their lives and more than 10 million of people displaced during the civil war.”
Indicating that heavy heartbreak situation continues in Syria, Yapıcıoğlu said: “There has been a civil war in Syria for 5 years. People have been suffering. 400 thousand of people is said to have lost their lives and more than 10 million of people have displaced. The country has almost devastated. We wish and hope that this truce may be a real and whole truce from now on. This bleeding stops.”
“Turkey pulled into quagmire”
Underlining that Turkey is being pulled into quagmire, Yapıcıoğlu said: “In fact Turkey has always got involved in Syria. But we want to repeat that we find Turkey’s any ground operation in Syria totally wrong. Turkey’s intervention in Syria military means to carry the war into country. We call on government to watch its steps. Turkey mustn’t get into this quagmire. Turkey and other all both Islamic countries and the rest must be sincere and do their best to stop these conflicts in Syria.”
“People and their legitimate representatives are the real respondents in Kurdish Problem”
Yapıcıoğlu added that: “We have warned and iterated that the process named as reconciliation process which was started in 2013 officially, include very wrong elements since the beginning of the process. The mistake was that; Kurdish people had some demands and these demands were discussed with only armed organization PKK. We emphasized that PKK is not the representative of people. However, if you discuss to persuade PKK to lay down its arms, then this is very normal. But the demands of people must be discussed with people themselves. We still have the same argument on this issue. If government tackles the Kurdish problem as only a matter of security then they are still wrong about it. But if still it is considered as restoring and expanding the freedom of Kurdish people’s right then people and their legitimate representatives are the real respondents.”
“Two negotiating table”
Yapıcıoğlu said PKK is a result and added that: “Yes, we say that these arms must be silenced. Those who carry weapons must be conceived to lay down its weapons and one of the tables must be established for this issue. But on the other hand the matter of rights for Kurdish people must be negotiated by who don’t have arms in their hands. The people and their representatives must be considered as the first respondent of this problem. PKK is a result. Kurdish problem had existed before PKK and it still exists. The rightful and legitimate demands must be answered regardless of handling PKK problem.”
“Freedom of thoughts is one of the essential human rights, yet “
Answering the question regarding releasing of high-profile journalists Can Dündar and Erdem Gül, Yapıcıoğlu said that freedom of thoughts is one of the essential human rights, yet there are still many desperate prisoners punished unlawfully that cannot make their voice be heard or come to public agenda.”
Yapıcıoğlu said: “But this mustn’t be forgotten that there are a lot of prisoners jailed unlawfully who haven’t been able to raise their voice enough to be heard. Now, prisons are overburden. New prisons are being constructed unfortunately. Are we a society prone to committing crimes? Or is there something wrong in our juridical system? This is a side of the issue. However, our juridical system tends to hear and act quite fast for only those who have media support and reckless for those who cannot lift their voice up is very saddening. Arresting is a precaution. No one, that can be a journalist, politician or an official, has the right to commit a crime. Everybody must be equal before the law. Long-term detention is something harms justice.”
“Murder trial of Aytaç Baran”
Speaking about murder trial of Aytaç Baran, a member of HUDA PAR and chairman of Yeni İhya-Der who was killed by PKK, held in Kayseri 2nd High criminal Court and releasing of the single suspect of Diyadin Gümüş, Yapıcıoğlu said: “I do not know every detail in the court file but I know this suspect, who was released, has been being judged as the perpetrator of the murder. Accusing of someone before the court in advance is something wrong, however, we have the right to ask if the evidence was so weak about him, so why did you present this man to the whole society as the perpetrator of the murder? Or if the evidence was strong against him the how could you release him? (ILKHA)
