IZMIR - Speaking at the ‘Youth reared by revelations’ conference held in Izmir, head of Association of Siyer (Prophet’s biography) Muhammed Emin Yıldırım said the biggest problem of the Ummah is losing its moderation.

“The biggest problem of the Ummah is losing its moderation

Operating in Dokuz Eylül University, Community of Virtuous Youth organized a conference. Muhammed Emin Yıldırım attended the conference as a speaker. Faculty dean and lecturers, NGO representatives and students attended the conference held in university conference hall. After reciting Quran and reading poems, Muhammed Emin Yıldırım made a speech to the participants.

Indicating that living in great blessings, Muslims of this age are very inactive to guide people to the path of Islam, Yıldırım said:” I don’t think we have been doing a lot despite living in blessings and having broad opportunities. If we had rendered Islam our real love in our hearts; we would have moved off beds, cushions, homes, business like Sahaba- companions of Prophet- did. We would have said the real joy is not here but in the paradise. We would have worked day and night. We would have talked with our wives and sons and offered them ‘give me as alms to Islamic service’, let me be your alms to contribute to our cause while a great fire ravaging Ummah. We would have said ‘let’s have a common stake in this glory purpose’. Wallahi, we wouldn’t have wasted a second in our life. “

“The biggest problem of this Ummah is the moderation issue”

Indicating that the biggest problem of this Ummah is losing its continence, Yıldırm said: ”you are all considerate people and you have all burdened the problems of this Ummah. When a conversation stroked up about the problems of our Ummah, you can, all, make an observation from your point of views. To some of you, the problem of Ummah is disunity and to some of you the biggest problem is not being able to build a consensus on even a simple issue. And to some others, the problem is having a solid faith and to some others, the problem is in the economic and social fields. What is the problem of Ummah? Let me answer this with a simple sentence; the biggest problem of this Ummah is losing our continence. We have lost the quality of being a moderate Ummah.”

“We have to grasp the ideal point of issues and put them into our lives as our prophet displayed us”

Underlining that Sunnah-prophet’s doings in his life- is being by-passed, Yıldırım said: “I wonder if you are aware of this; Muslims have been telling of Muslims about Islam for centuries. For centuries, we have been struggling to put some Islamic values across. For the sake of God, tell me; can there be any reason for Muslims to defend Sunnah in an Islamic community? How can a Muslim have a problem with Sunnah while some others try to defend Sunnah against them? But there is a problem that some ones try to defend Sunnah.

I don’t want to demoralize you but I want to remind you all, as being one of your brothers, that the coming days will make us miss these days. However, the problems Ummah face are so many and such deep issues that if we don’t take some fundamental steps; if we keep go on to skip Prophet’s line that’s to say if we don’t grasp the ideal point of issues and put them into our lives, it is so certain that Ummah will face deeper and tougher problems soon.” (ILKHA)
