Bomb attack in Silopi: 4 dead, 27 injured
SIRNAK - Bomb was detonated during the passage of a police armored vehicle in Silopi, Sirnak. 4 civilians were killed and 27 people were injured as a result of the explosion.
A bomb was detonated during the passage of a police armored vehicle in Yenisehir District of Silopi. The blast was heard from several points of the county and according to the initial reports 4 civilians were killed and 27 injured.
According to the reports, the bomb was somehow trapped before the explosion and was detonated during the passage of a police armored vehicle at 19:30 on the State Hospital way. Several police and ambulance was sent to the scene after the explosion.
Initial reports suggest that 4 civilians were killed and 27 were injured in the incident. 5 of those injured were police officers and 3 civilians are still in life-threatening conditions.
Identity of those killed and injured are as follows:
Sirnak Former AK Party county leader Rizgin Birlik’s brother Ekrem Birlik aged 35, his granddaughter Kubra Halime Birlik aged 8, Isa Torlak aged 68 and Davut Yoksul aged 19 were killed in the explosion. Sirnak Former MP Ibrahim Hakki’s mother Halime Birlik was transferred to Batman due to her serious injuries. Kubra Halime Birlik’s mother Elif Cizre and father Serdar Birlik were also transferred to Batman for their injuries. It was noted that those killed were also relatives of HDP member Leyla Birlik.
Sirnak governor spoke about the attack:
“An explosion occurred in Silopi which was pre-planned by the PKK/KCK terrorist members. 4 civilians were killed and 6 people were seriously injured in the treacherous attack. 5 police officers and 8 other people remain in a life-threatening condition. (ILKHA)
