The severity of the explosion in Silopi appeared at dawn
SIRNAK - A bomb placed on the road by the PKK in Silopi, Sirnak was detonated and as a result of massive blast 4 civilians were killed 27 others injured. The severity of the explosion appeared at dawn.
A hand made bomb fitted in a manhole by the PKK was detonated during the passage of a police armored vehicle at 19:30 in Yenisehir District of Silopi. The blast was heard from several points of the county. 4 civilians were killed and 27 people were injured in the explosion including AK Party former MP Ibrahim Hakki Birlik’s relatives.
The damage to the environment was clearly visible at the dawn. Some houses and workplaces were damaged due to the severity of the explosion. A huge hole on the road was also seen after the explosion. Some parked vehicles were also damaged as well as a football pitch nearby.
Sirnak Former AK Party county leader Rizgin Birlik’s brother Ekrem Birlik aged 35, his granddaughter Kubra Halime Birlik aged 8, Isa Torlak aged 68 and Davut Yoksul aged 19 were killed in the explosion. It has been noted that those killed were also relatives of HDP member Leyla Birlik.
Sirnak Former MP Ibrahim Hakki’s mother Halime Birlik was transferred to Batman due to her serious injuries. Kubra Halime Birlik’s mother Elif Cizre and father Serdar Birlik were also transferred to Batman for their injuries
The funeral of those killed in the attack is due to be held today. The treatment of 5 police officers and the 23 people injured continues. (ILKHA)
