Historical visit from Saudi King to Russia
NEWS CENTER - For the first time in the history of Saudi, a king was on official visit to Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin described the visit as “a turning point”, as Saudi stated that they would invest in dozens of projects.

Selman bin Abdul-Aziz, the first King of the Saudi Arabia who visited Russia, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders held a press conference after their visit.
Putin emphasized that the visit was the first visit of the King of Saudi Arabia to Russia, “This visit is an evolution in itself, and our relations have a huge history.”
Expressing that they had detailed consultations with King Selman about the situation in the Middle East, Putin said that in addition to the situation in the Middle East, they also talked about bilateral relations, a comprehensive, informative and trust-based exchange of ideas.
King Selman referred to the issue of Syria, saying that Riyad is in favor of resolving the crisis in accordance with the Geneva-1 resolutions and the UN Security Council [UNSC] resolutions.
King Selman noted that Riyadh intends to consolidate relations with Moscow for peace and security.
“We are striving to maintain a positive partnership between our countries to stabilize global oil markets in order to contribute to the growth of the global economy,” said King Selman, who wants to cooperate with Russia to ensure stability in the global oil markets. (ILKHA)
